Dispute Resolution

Our goal is to solve our clients' problems. We are recommended in both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners guides to the Legal Profession as one of the leading firms acting in corporate and commercial disputes in Wales.

We are specialists in dispute resolution acting in all courts and appeal courts as well as regularly representing clients in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration and adjudication.

Our ethos is to provide commercial and practical advice that enables our clients to resolve their disputes as quickly and as effectively as possible. Chambers & Partners (2009 Edn.) describes us as "efficient and high quality". We identify at an early stage the prospects of success in any case, the potential cost implications to our clients and the best forum to resolve the dispute.

We are also prepared to discuss fee structures with our clients and frequently use detailed case budgeting so that our clients can clearly weigh up the effect of a dispute on their own budgets, and the projected time the case will last. Our commercial approach is recommended in Chambers & Partners (2009 Edn) which recognises that we are "… always looking at the bigger picture and doing their best to keep costs low", whilst the Legal 500 (2009 Edn), describes us as "truly excellent ... always lays out the costs first, and very pragmatic in its advice on a case in terms of costs verses benefit".

We are also experienced in dealing with potential adverse publicity that can arise from a party being involved in a dispute and our advice is always mindful of wider implications that can arise.

We are always happy to have a no obligation discussion at the outset of the dispute to see how we may be able to assist. We often provide behind the scenes advice to clients in the early stages of a dispute to ensure that matters get off on the right footing.

Examples of how we have been able to help our clients are set out below:
